In a new so-called Crowd Grid, G2 Crowd has collected email marketing software reviews and ranked each company according to customer satisfaction and market presence. In the best of breed email marketing software comparison platforms and companies like Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, Constant Contact and dotmailer are included.
At first, Salesforce Marketing Cloud (formerly known as ExactTarget) and MailChimp might not seem comparable, but then again: at their core they offer (among other marketing channels) SaaS-based email marketing software, be it with a quite diverse range of features and pricing differences.
Here’s the grid:
The grid is divided in Contenders, Leaders, Niche and High Performers.
G2 Crowd explains how each company falls into each category:
- Leaders offer Email Marketing: Best of Breed products that are rated highly by G2 Crowd users and have substantial scale, market share, and global support and service resources. Leaders include: Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MailChimp, dotmailer, iContact, and Oracle | Responsys
- High Performers provide products that are highly rated by their users, but have not yet achieved the market share and scale of the vendors in the Leader category. High Performers include: Maropost, Launchpad, and ExpressPigeon
- Contenders have significant scale and resources, but their products have received below average user satisfaction ratings or have not yet received a sufficient number of reviews to validate their products. Contenders include: Constant Contact
- Niche vendors do not have the scale and market share of the Leaders. They may have been rated positively on customer satisfaction, but have not yet received enough reviews to validate their success. Niche include: Bronto, Campaign Monitor, VerticalResponse,GatorMail, LionMailer, Return Path, and AWeber
